Ensemble single entry door with sidelight
LASTING BEAUTY; INSIDE AND OUT

Ensemble® Single Entry Door

Featuring timeless style and exceptional performance, the Ensemble single entry door is perfect for front entries where space is at a premium — and is also great as a secondary door to a non-main entrance.

Have a bit more space? Consider adding a sidelight to your Ensemble entry door. Or, if you are looking for a light-filled, symmetrical aesthetic, an Ensemble entry door with dual sidelights is an excellent choice. Sidelights are sections of glass flanking the door — full glass (direct-set) or a smaller section within its own panel (panel-set) — with a host of customizations including grille patterns and clear, patterned, or art glass.

With five door families (solid panel, craftsman, special-, oval-, and full and partial-light panels), plus features like high-definition embossments and wood textures, you can design a gorgeous, custom door that delivers unrivaled, certified performance AND exceptional curb appeal. Choose between left- or right-handed opening, and upgrade to a multi-point mortise lock for added security.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

About Single Entry Doors

Everything you want to know about Ensemble® Single Entry Doors.

How do I know if I need to replace my entry door?

Watch for performance issues (sticking, drafts, difficulty locking, damaged weather seals), aesthetic concerns (faded, outdated, doesn’t match your home), and visible damage (rot, warping, cracking, damaged glass). Recognizing these early can save you from security concerns, higher energy bills, and future maintenance costs.

What materials are good for entry doors?

Common materials include wood (natural elegance, requires maintenance), steel (budget-friendly, energy efficient, dents easily), and fiberglass (versatile, foam-filled core, excellent energy efficiency, low-maintenance, durable). Choose based on energy efficiency, security needs, and your home’s style.

What are Ensemble® entry doors made of?

The custom-built, continuous dual-composite (Fibrex® material and fiberglass) frame is low-maintenance, stable in all climates, and will not leak or rot. The composite door panel features scratch-resistant fiberglass reinforced with Laminated Veneered Lumber (LVL), full-perimeter composite edges, and CFC-free foam insulation.

What configurations are available?

Single panel (left or right-handed inward opening, with optional one or two sidelights, direct-set or panel-set). A transom window (rectangular or one of 11 specialty shapes) can be added above.

What are the five door panel families available?

Solid panel (no glass); Full and partial light (glass spanning at least half the panel); Oval light (large oval glass); Craftsman light (arched or rectangular glass at top with panels below); and Specialty light (one to seven smaller glass lights throughout the panel).

Do you carry pre-configured doors?

Yes — two curated collections. The Designer Collection features combinations created by Brand Ambassadors, and the annual Trends Collection pairs elevated design with everyday functionality.

Are the Ensemble® entry doors secure?

Yes. Dual-composite frames and reinforced panels deliver industry-recognized forced-entry resistance. The mortise lock configuration adds a Stainless Steel Multi-Point Locking System (latches in 3 places), reinforced LVL panel, routed hinge pockets, strong strike/backer plates, and a solid 16-inch wood lock block.

What kind of locks do your entry doors have?

Cross-bore locks (single-point with latch, or with latch + deadbolt) and mortise locks (single-point or multi-point stainless steel). Smart lock hardware is available for both, with touchscreen keypad, remote access, Bluetooth, and Z-Wave compatibility.

What’s the difference between a cross-bore lock and a mortise lock?

Cross-bore locks are common, affordable, with a single latch and optional deadbolt. Mortise locks are more secure — our multi-point system latches in three places for maximum weather-resistance and security.

What is a sidelight?

A section of glass flanking the door. It can be full glass (direct-set) or a smaller glass section within its own panel (panel-set), with grille patterns and clear, patterned, or art glass options to complement your door.

What is a transom?

A window above the door. Choose a rectangular transom with a variety of glass options, or one of 11 non-rectangular (specialty) windows with energy-efficient glass.

Are your front entry doors energy efficient?

Yes. Excellent insulating properties, weathertight seals, and Andersen’s patented driven-rain-management sill earn PG and NFRC certifications. Foam-filled panels and multiple glass options maximize energy performance, and professional installation ensures no air infiltration.

How long does it take to replace an entry door?

Most replacement jobs are completed in as little as one day, depending on the number of windows and doors, crew size, and structural complexity.
